Why Choose Ingersoll

What Residents & Families Say

Jennifer M

The staff and homelike atmosphere made us feel like immediate family. Everyone seemed to love working there and interacting with the residents. Ingersoll felt like we had angels on earth helping us on the road of Alzheimer’s. The facility exceeded our expectations and made taking the step easier on us. We rate our mother’s stay a 10. There was nothing we wanted for and thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

I’d like to point out three staff members at Ingersoll that have shown wonderful skills in caring for my Mom. Two of them are caregivers in upper east, Alesha and Taisha. Both ladies are incredibly attentive to caring for residents under their care. Alesha is friendly and caring, and especially has gone above and beyond. Alesha instills great confidence that my mother is being well cared for and that someone is overseeing her care and personally watching out for her. This is such a wonderful thing.

Taisha is friendly and caring, learning my name very early on, though I have interacted with her less than with Alesha. It’s obvious that Taisha cares deeply for the residents in her care – and goes the extra mile in doing the little things that demonstrate this is more than just a job for her. Even the way Taisha speaks to my Mom says much about the way she interacts with the residents and treats them – with kindness and respect, preserving their dignity – and making them feel important and cared for.

Both of these ladies are always a pleasure to work with. I feel that there is a strong 3-way partnership between Ingersoll Place, my Mom and myself as we care for her.

I also want to point out Jenny, Lead Concierge. In her own way, Jenny is attentive and caring. Though it doesn’t always come out right away, Jenny is thoughtful and observant of the needs and goings and comings of the residents. Just yesterday, Jenny emailed me to let me know that a friend of my mom’s was back at Ingersoll, and wondered if my Mom would like to know she’s back. Jenny was careful not to break confidentiality but at the same time recognized my mother’s friendship with this resident (that goes back over 40 years). I was so touched by Jenny’s care and concern – and her desire to help reconnect these two ladies. Jenny took the time to contact me about this, as she’s done with other things where she needed to check in with me regarding appointments and such. Again, this demonstrates that she too is watching out for my mother – and the finer details of her care.

Ingersoll Place has been a very good fit for my mother. We are thrilled that there was an opening last July – and that my mother has adjusted so well to her new life in this special place.

Thank you for your regular communications about issues of concern and issues about which we can rejoice. Your delivery is gentle with clearly-expressed expectations. Much like the general atmosphere at Ingersoll, your communications feel like we’re a part of your family.

My sisters and I feel like Dad and Joan are “at home.” Dad and Joan have told me how lucky they feel to have found Ingersoll. They, of course, occasionally miss their hometown but feel embraced by the staff at Ingersoll. They are comfortable in the intimate atmosphere you foster where everyone knows them and reaches out to them in friendship. In fact, I think everyone knows me, too!

We appreciate Ingersoll! Thank you for all you do.

The people who work here were born to do this work. They happily offer a daily abundance of hope, care, empathy and love. You can feel the community and strong values the moment you walk through the door.

We visited several residences before we went to Ingersoll, and most were very nice, but there was a sense of purpose, community and caring from the second we walked through the door, and knew immediately this was the right place.

I study and consult on company cultures for a living, and Ingersoll has managed to build a community with such a strong, positive, sustained culture of community and caring. There are many companies and institutions in the world working very hard to establish just a sliver of that culture magic.

The staff is attentive and caring; they make sure my needs are met. Everyone works hard to provide a welcoming and supportive environment. I have never regretted my decision to live at Ingersoll Place and am grateful to all the staff for their kind assistance.

It’s been a year and a half since my mom (Ronnie) moved here and she soon started to call it home. Mom loves her apartment, has found many friends among the residents and staff and happily takes part in almost all activities.

I hear all the time how much she likes the setting from the busy patio in front and beautiful garden courtyards to the pond and woods in the back. She even says how great the food is! Her favorites, though, are the musical events and outings—especially being able to go to church every Sunday.

This has been a great fit not only for my mom but also for her children. At Ingersoll Place we have found an extended family of caregivers—it’s the people that make it so special here because they all truly care about mom and her family.

Being at Ingersoll Place was such a positive experience for my mother. It is a warm and friendly place with lots of great activities. I can't say enough about the way staff responded and paid attention to everyone's needs and their efforts to engage them. Ingersoll’s staff was adept at dealing with people that have dementia and Alzheimer's and I can honestly say my mom was happiest living there. Any time you need a volunteer, let me know. I’d love to help!

There is so much offered at Ingersoll in the way of activities, caregivers are friendly and cooperative and the building is kept up nicely. Any reasonable request is carried out with a warm and helpful attitude. Our medications are taken care of and we get rides to appointments which was difficult to coordinate when we lived at home.
